Soft serve ice cream is softer than regular ice cream as it is stored at a temperature slightly higher than regular ice cream. Another reason why it is so soft is the inclusion of air in it by beating while freezing. Usually sold in edible biscuit or wafer cones or in paper cups, softies are a favorite among kids. They’re quite easy to make at home too.
- Milk 3 cups
- Cool whip 1 cup
- Instant vanilla pudding mix 1 packet (30 grams)
- Sugar ¾ cup
- Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
- Biscuit cones (optional) For serving
- Pour 2 cups of milk in the bowl of an electric mixer. Stir in pudding mix and make pudding according to the instructions on pudding mix packet.
- Stir in sugar, vanilla and cool whip; mix until everything is well blended.
Tip: Other flavors of choice can be used instead of vanilla.
- Transfer the mixture into ice cream maker and freeze according to instructions for soft serve by ice cream maker manufacturer.
Tip: You may also freeze it in freezer without using an ice cream maker. Just churn it two or three times after freezing for 2 hours.
- Transfer frozen ice cream into piping bag, fitted with a star nozzle and squeeze out soft frozen ice cream into biscuit cones, serve immediately and enjoy.
Preparation Time: 10 minutes (excluding freezing time)
